Bishop, California is located in a remote part of eastern California on Highway 395. Highway 395 provides excellent access to the Owens Valley and is heavily traveled connecting southern California with such popular destinations as Mammoth Lakes, Yosemite National Park, and Lake Tahoe. Bishop is located 266 miles north of Los Angeles, and 270 miles northwest of Las Vegas, Nevada. Reno, Nevada is 204 miles to the north. Bishop can also be reached from the north by Highway 6 leading into Nevada. Fifteen miles south of Bishop in Big Pine, Highway 168, is a northeasterly route, which is popular with visitors coming to the area from Las Vegas.
